HRM is one of only two security companies operating in Somaliland which can legally provide the service of armed SPUs, holding strong relationships and track records with both the military and police in Somaliland.

HRM is one of only two security companies operating in Somaliland which can legally provide the service of armed SPUs, holding strong relationships and track records with both the military and police in Somaliland. HRM also provides professionally trained national and international CPOs, depending on what the client requires. HRM CPOs are first-aid trained however, HRM can also provide fully dedicated medics to any required mission.

SPU

SPUs are an integral part to operations across Somalia, though particularly important in Somaliland where they are the only personnel who can legally carry arms in the region. SPUs are generally seconded from either the military or police forces of the area of operation and HRM has an excellent working relationship with the various organisations and forces in question.

When operating in other Federal Member States (FMS) armed escorts are still a requirement in most cases, though they do not specifically have to be seconded from national security forces. HRM has a solid network of both government and private armed security personnel in various FMS of Somalia ensuring that the client always has the recommended level of protection for the area.

CPOs

HRM has both international and national CPOs on the books, all attributed with high-quality close protection training. HRM’s international CPOs are all UK Security Industry Authority (SIA) licensed which is the globally recognised licensing authority for the security sector. To attain this license, all CPOs must undergo extensive training which includes a level of field first-aid to stabilise a patient in an active theatre until they are able to reach a medical professional. HRM’s CPOs also have a hostile environment training focus, ensuring their understanding of operating in an environment such as Somalia is current. Many of the them are ex-servicemen with previous careers in both the British Parachute Regiment and the Royal Marines. All international CPOs have robust experience operating in hostile environments.

HRM’s national CPOs are from Somali military or police backgrounds and have a great understanding of the realities of operating on the ground in the various regions of Somalia and Somaliland. They maintain their networks in the field to ensure the most up to date intelligence is filtered through to them whilst on mission, which in turn safeguards the client.

All HRM CPOs are responsible for journey management, route planning and selection, venue reconnaissance, vehicle and pedestrian drills, quick reaction force (QRF) management, pre-mission and dynamic risk assessments and post-mission briefs; as well as the physical protection of the client. It is HRM’s aim is to ensure the client can safely maintain their normal work operations whilst in a hostile setting.
